This is a Legacy feature, that is being deprecated, please refer to v2 in the next section.
Out of the box you can use vWork to send SMS and email alerts to workers, customers, dispatchers, etc. However, what if you need to send an alert to someone specific to the job (like a 3rd party site manager who needs to enable access for your team). This is where ad hoc alerts come in.
Ad hoc alerts allow you to add these one off contact details to the specific jobs that require them. You can then use the vWork alerts module to trigger alerts to these ad hoc recipients.
If you need to add an ad hoc email recipient to a job, you can use the following XML:
<adhoc_alert_email_recipient>
<name>Steve</name>
<email>steve.taylor@vworkapp.com</email>
</adhoc_alert_email_recipient>And for an SMS recipient, you can use the following XML:
<adhoc_alert_sms_recipient>
<name>John</name>
<mobile>64 21234567</mobile>
</adhoc_alert_sms_recipient>You can include both SMS and email to a job, but you can only have one of each per job.
Please ensure that you include the country code followed by a space when specifying the mobile number.
