You may also specify some constraints on how your mobile user interacts with the custom fields

| optional | String | All users will be able to update this field, but will not be required to. (this is the default, unless you specify a different permission) |
| required | String | All users will be unable to complete the job without entering a value for this field. |
| read_only | String | Allows dispatchers to update the value, but mobile workers will only be able to read this field. |
| hidden | String | Allows dispatchers to view and update the value, but mobile workers will not see this field. |
All custom field types can have any of the permissions above, apart from the following exceptions:
link - must be set to either hidden or read_only
signature - must be set to either optional or required
